What is a Persona in Transcodes?

A Persona is a reusable AI onboarding manual that defines how an AI agent should work. It combines an Instruction, focused Rules, repeatable Skills, and a Knowledge Base of durable facts in one bundle. Learn more in the Persona overview and Knowledge Base.

Which AI apps does Transcodes Persona support?

You can apply the same Persona to Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and Antigravity. Cursor Personas are applied per project; Claude Code, Codex, and Antigravity also support a global Persona on the current device.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Download the Transcodes desktop app and use it to create, edit, apply, and sync a Persona. The Windows installer is x64 and supports Windows 10 and later. Run it as administrator. You can also ask your AI agent to interview you and create the Persona through conversation. See the desktop dashboard guide.

Where are my Personas stored?

Personas are stored locally under ~/.transcodes/personas/<name>/ on your device. Applying a Persona writes the appropriate host files on that device. Versioning publishes a numbered revision to your organization so another machine can Get Latest.

Yes. Sign in and use Synchronization in the desktop app. Upload to Remote publishes a new numbered revision to the organization; teammates Get Latest, then apply it on their device. See Versioning.

Is a Persona the same as an RBAC role?

No. A Persona controls how an AI agent writes and behaves. An RBAC role controls what an authenticated member or token is allowed to do. They solve different problems and can be used independently.

Does Transcodes also protect sensitive AI actions?

Yes, as an optional governance layer. Transcodes Guard can require permissions and step-up authentication before protected AI actions, then record the outcome in audit logs. Persona creation and local application do not require this governance workflow.

How much does Transcodes cost?

The first accepted organization member is free. From the second accepted member, every member is billed at $6 per month. Add a card to invite — nothing is charged until they accept. See the current pricing page for details.
